The Friends of the Foster City Library (FOFCL) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that is committed to preserving and promoting library services and activities as a foundational resource that benefits local residents. We believe in the power and value of our library as a source of community, interaction, and learning.
We raise money through annual membership drives, generous donations, book sales, and other fundraising events which allow us to provide funds to bridge the gap that the library’s annual budget does not cover. FOFCL funds have sponsored diverse educational programs such as author talks, children’s storytime, music performances, and much more. The generous support of the community will also help fund Foster City’s new Makerspace.
Our mission is to bring awareness and appreciation of the library by:
- Educating and informing the public about library services, facilities, and needs
- Enriching the library through fundraising and volunteerism
- Expanding the materials, services and equipment of the library
- Sponsoring cultural and educational programs and activities that appeal to a variety of community members
